Congressional Advocacy Day Registration Opens Monday
Registration opens Monday for the Academy's Congressional Advocacy Day, April 25 and 26 in Washington, D.C. The Capitol Hill event gives Academy members the opportunity to meet with senators and representatives to discuss key ophthalmology issues, including the need for a permanent Medicare physician pay fix and passage of truth-in-advertising legislation. During the Congressional Advocacy Day kick-off at the Renaissance Downtown Hotel Washington, participants will be briefed on the Academy's legislative priorities, as well as receive training on effective advocacy techniques. The following day, participants will meet with members of Congress and their staffs to present ophthalmology's position on the issues. Members who are new to advocacy may ask to be paired with a mentor when registering. Congressional Advocacy Day is conducted in conjunction with the Academy
